Announces 2026 Fees & Charges Update
 
October 22, 2025 – The Franklin Parks & Recreation Board, at it’s October meeting, approved the 2026 fees & charges update for programs, memberships, facility reservations, Greenlawn Cemetery and other services provided by the Parks & Recreation Department.  It was also approved to implement Non-Resident fees throughout the park system so non-resident participants can fairly contribute to the overall financing of the park system.  The following fees & charges will be effective January 1, 2026.
 
Are you a City of Franklin resident?
 
A Franklin city-resident is any person who resides within the City’s corporate limits.  Fees for some Parks & Recreation memberships, programs, facility rentals and Greenlawn Cemetery may reflect in-city and non-city pricing.  If you pay City of Franklin property taxes you are a City of Franklin resident.  If you are unsure whether or not you live within City limits, we can verify by checking your address.  Even if your mailing address is “Franklin” or zip code is “46131”, it does not necessarily mean you are a city resident.  Please contact the Parks & Recreation Office at 317-736-3689 if you have questions about your residency. 
 
The City of Franklin Parks & Recreation Department is a Department of the City of Franklin.  City of Franklin residents, through property taxes make a significant contribution to the operation of the park system.  Non-resident fees are charged so non-resident participants can fairly contribute to the overall financing of the park system.

Saturday hours per scheduled funerals

Funeral Times
Monday through Friday: Funerals must be scheduled by 3:30pm.  Funeral procession must be in Greenlawn Cemetery no later than 4:00pm.  Saturday funerals must be scheduled by 3:30pm.  Funeral procession must be in Greenlawn Cemetery no later than 4:00pm.  No funerals will be scheduled for Sundays or City-Holidays.
